I feel that the food on school could be 100 times better. When one is on college there is that little saying “freshmen 15”. Well I feel that here at USF, it is very easy for someone to gain those 15 pounds. On campus the places we have to eat are Subway, Burger King, Fresh Food, Andros, Marshall Center, and the deli place in the business center. First, I would like to make it clear that these few places we have to eat do not compare to what other college have to offer. Burger King has nothing healthy to offer, everything is fried or has been sitting there for who knows how long. Subway, it is advertised as a healthy place to eat at but with the line outside the place who would want to wait. Andros and Fresh Food is where most people who live on campus eat at. Unfortunately the food is not that great. There is not anything really healthy there. With the money we pay for it, I expect food to be to some extend pleasant to eat. It is disgusting the way flies are flying over the food, the silverware is not always completely cleaned and the drinks don’t always work. The Marshall center does have a good amount of places to eat. With the smoothie place instead of having hotdogs have other healthier food be served there. The deli I think is the best place to eat at on campus. The only problem is how hard out it is. The food there is so expensive as well. We need to get rid of Burger King and open something else. Hopefully with the new Marshall center being built, better food places are going to be put in.

I think he has a huge imagination. In reality, he is a great guy, and he does try very hard to please everyone. I get the impression he is one of those guys who wants everyone to like him so he will do anything for that to happen. In his business in order for him to get people to accept him and respect him, he comes up with great stories. All of his stories are great but they are not real. I do not think I could hang out with him. I got the impression he tries way to hard. When he continues to ask if he did anything wrong or thanks people for every little thing, it gets to the point where he is too nice. I definitely feel what he did was wrong. In a business like that, all the information is supposed to be real not made up real lie events. I have a feeling everything he wrote about was to amuse the audience but had no evidence of being true. As exciting and amusing the papers were, they were made-up. I feel bad for Chuck because he is put in a very hard situation at the moment. He does want his employees to know they have his trust and he is always 100% behind them but in this situation, he did not believe Stephen and started to go against him and question him. Chuck was doing his job, what needed to be done. Liars don’t need their words to be hear and that si what Stephen is.

“I LOVE YOU”! Really, what does that mean? The term for showing emotions towards a partner seems to have a different meaning to people. Should “love” be looked at as a general saying? I always tell people I love them but the meaning is not the same. Saying I love you to your parents should not be the same as saying it to a friend. As much as you ay care about them, the meaning should be strong I would think when saying it to your parents. As we all mature, when it comes to relationships, I think the actual meaning to I love you is more powerful then when people in middle school are walking around saying it. When people say I love you it shows true emotional care for each other, promise to always be around, and indefinite compassion. Your first “love”, may not actually be the person you do actually fall in love with. Saying I love you, and being in love, are not the same things. I feel at times people who say I love you are in lust. Is it acceptable for people to say I love you to everyone they are in a relationship with? I think that happens to much and is looked at as an alright thing to do. But I think it is unnecessary. The words should not be over-used and only used when true feelings are present. It should take time to say since it takes times to have such strong feelings for a spouse.

For project 2, I am doing my essay on abortion. In America, abortion is a very big controversial, ethical issue. Should it be allowed? Is it right for someone to have an abortion? Should the women having the abortion be penalized? It is a fetus, is it acceptable to take that babies life? There are many ways to look at the situation and I am going to give my stand point on how I feel it is ethically. There are definitely pros and cons to having an abortion. It is very easy for someone to say “yes I am pro-abortion or no I would never have an abortion”. Unfortunately when someone is actually in the position, their thoughts could change. In my essay, I will be explaining not only my stand-point on abortion but also pros and cons to general abortion. After giving that, I will be providing some situations where I feel abortion should be allowed and rethought. Then I will bring the essay back together and again state my opinion. It is an ethical problem because some people are either pro-abortion or against it. There needs to be a way of looking at it and not siding because situations do come up where a person’s logical may change. I feel that this essay is going to be very controversial but a point will be made by the end of my essay. I just want to show the problems with people being narrow-minded on the issue.

All over the United States, the atmosphere changes. Where you live is not the same as someone who lives 30 hours away from you. Living in Florida my entire life has only been able to give me so much. Florida has been me the beautiful bright sun, beaches year long, a not so much conservative appearance, and out spoken thoughts. Would you think someone who lives in Illinois would be brought up the same as someone in New York? A girl on my floor is from North Dakota. She is a great girl but growing up on a farm and living the life she lived, she was use to only seeing Caucasians and Asians. When she came down here, seeing so many African Americans was a surprise to her. Another girl from Oklahoma thought the best thing to do on a Friday and Saturday night was to a bon fire every weekend. When I was up in Indiana, people thought I dressed to risky when wearing a dress to a night out while the other girls all had jeans and a top on. Living at different parts of the United States can change our up bring. The weather is also very different. Floridians are use to summer year around while people in the northern states experience all for seasons: spring, winter, fall, summer. As whole the Unites States is one but we are so diverse. It is crazy how different we all are yet we all live and stand for the same rights.

Spears has been a long lost case for some time now. She has been in and out of the spotlight, but not for her music, for the wrong reason. It has been such a shame to see someone turn into a person like this after idolizing her as I grew up. She is non-stop with the paparazzi. We all wonder will she ever learn? Spears left a hospital also called a psych ward in Los Angelos without the paparazzi following her! Thank goodness.
A court commissioner has set up a physician to evaluate whether Spears is able to make decisions or if her father, James, needs to be put in charge of all of her fiancés and estates. That has still been unheard of with details on how it went.
On January 30, Spears, accompanied by a small army of police on motorcycles, cruises and helicopters, rushed her to a psychiatric ward of UCLA’s Medical Center. She is there to have a 72-hour emergency observation done to evaluate and treat Spears.
Since January 3, which has only been a month ago, Spears has been know as having what people say a “mentally illness”. She refused to give up custody of her children to her ex husband Kevin Federline. As of now Spears does not have the right to visit her sons, and she has missed multiple court hearings in her battle for custody.
Spears has been photographed with her head being shaved in public, attacking of a car with an umbrella and swimming in her underwear. Is this really the best placement for her, her children, and family?

The days are counting down until Valentine’s Day. Is that really a happy day for most women in the United Sates, or do they dread the day to come? I have always heard that Valentine’s Day is the day that all women are to be treated with respect, loved by their partner, and given gifts. I do not agree with that statement. I see Valentine’s Day as a day to unite with your partner and share a moment of happiness.
As for me, I am flying up to Indiana to visit my boyfriend at Purdue. I am so excited for the day! I do not expect to get anything like a gift or presents from him because getting gifts is not the “true” meaning as for the holiday. I just want to go up there and be able to spend time with the one I love and have a fabulous day.
I think more women should consider that as the meaning for the day. Yes, it is just another day of the year but it is a day to share even more special time with your partner. It should not be able the gifts. Some women get mad and annoyed when they do not get anything from their partners.
For people who do not have a partner, do not think you cannot still enjoy this “special day”. Why not get with a group of friends and go out to dinner or see a movie! You are still around people who care and love you. Another thing you could do, is spend time with the family. No reason to ignore the holiday, live it up no matter what! Whether it is with a loved one or group of friends, make it a memorial day this year!

Living on campus is a great way to get to know a campus better. I feel everyone should live on campus their first year. Coming to the school I was lost and had no clue what was going on that is why I decided to live on campus. Not only do you get to meet many new people that will probably stay with you throughout college but it is also a great way to get involved. When living on campus you get to know what events are being held at a certain time and place, have leadership roles in your living hall or on campus in general, and you get a better grasp of the school. Living in Castor Hall my first year was not nearly as bad as everyone thought it was. When I would tell people I live in Castor, everyone would turn their noses up. Living on campus you have everything you need, a cafeteria with food, two gyms, parking spots, a pool, basketball courts, and many more. What else do you need? Castor is not at all like what people all think. I have been able to make the best out of it all. Yes the bathroom situation is not that fun, but the positive side to it is once you walk in the bathroom someone will be there with something interesting to tell you. I have been able to form great friendships with the girls on my floor. We go out together all the time and even go to each other’s houses over breaks! Not only have I made great friends but I have been able to take on leadership positions in Castor and on campus.

Although I was in the group saying that I would always give money without a doubt to homeless people, I do not agree with that in reality. I felt everyone in each group had come up with good answers for their situation. Was that really what they all thought though? My own personal thought about giving money to a homeless person is very simple. No matter what the occasion is, I will not go out giving money to them. If someone can stand outside begging for money from 9:00 a.m-5:00 p.m, why can they not get a job? That really irritates me. With the amount of time people spend standing outside, they could look for a job. When homeless people are on the sides of the roads asking for money but willing to give someone something, for example a rose, I would be more willing to take it. If had a reason to buy what they were selling, I would spend the buck or two. Really a dollar or two dollars is not that much. Out of all of these, I am more willing to give money to an organization. Some type of homeless shelter, or homeless families. I have before given my birthday gifts to homeless families. Performing some type of deed like that, I would rather do than give money to people. Having objects can excite a homeless person just as much as money. You never know where the money you give to a homeless is going to really go towards.

I choose to look at a commercial titled “First Obama Presidential Ad” for an analysis of the use of ethos, logos, and pathos. The commercial begins with Obama speaking to the public about what it is his beliefs are.
The first thing that comes up on the screen is him speaking with a picture of Bush in the background. He is speaking and the words “replace fear” comes up with Bush in the picture. Bush says all this but doesn’t follow through-cynicism. Then a picture of Obama comes up asking if we; the people, believe in “hope”. That makes you wonder I Bush represents all the things we need in life? When showing the picture of Bush and the word “fear” in the background you can hear everyone talking and not paying attention, but once the word “hope” comes up everyone starts to yell and cheer. That is showing the appeals to the character giving the speech, Obama.
Throughout the commercial, Obama is very positive in everything he is speaking for. After everything he states, not only does he say “that’s something we believe in”, but you can still hear people cheering in the background. Some things Obama says he believes in are; everyone having a job, education is very important, elderly retire with dignity and respect, morals of the nation, everyone should have health care when sick, and many more. Obama is giving reasons as for why he should be elected for the Presidential position. He brings the public in by speaking about them.
Emotion is written all over this commercial. Everything that Obama states, has the beliefs of his people. He states what it is he will give to the United States to satisfy all our needs. In the commercial, every time he states a different belief, a picture comes up. When he is speaking about school funds and all children should go to school to learn and excel in life, a picture of a young girl appears smiling. When he speaks about the elderly being able to retire and still have respect by their peers, a picture of him hugging an older women shows. The commercial can connect with any person at any age because it shows everyone is equal and should be respected.
